Netherlands // Delft

Delft is the perfect little town for our year in Europe. It's about 15 minutes from The Hague and Rotterdam, 45 minutes away from the airport, an hour from Amsterdam,  and only a few hours by plane from awesome places like Paris, Munich, Edinburgh, and London. Not only is the location of Delft in Europe perfect, but it's the perfect little quaint town with enough nightlight and events going on to fit our lifestyle right now. It's one of the main hubs for residential towns in South Holland and it hosts lots of festivals and celebrations throughout the year. There are market days on Thursday and Saturday where you can buy everything from fresh fruit and cheese to bike lights and new shoes. We've stumbled upon events such as an organized bike race through the town, a crowded beer festival, a dinner en blanc party, and a tournament for a kid's game that was a mix of basketball, soccer, and tag (it was confusing). There are enough cozy bars and restaurants to keep us entertained for the next five years if we needed, and we can buy anything and everything at the markets, little shops or big department stores that are all within a three minute bike ride from our place. It has everything we could ever need or want, and on top of it all, it's just a ridiculously adorable town.
