Netherlands // The Tallest Man on Earth in Utrecht

A few weeks ago we purchased tickets to see the Tallest Man on Earth in Utrecht and it was such a blast. To be completely honest, I hadn't listened to much of his music before the concert, but when a friend mentioned he was going to Utrecht, I jumped at the opportunity to explore the city and see some live music. We arrived a few hours before the concert to talk around and it was such a gorgeous place to meander through. The canals are much deeper than in Delft and many of the canal front businesses have tables you can eat down on the side of the canal. It was a beautiful fall day with gorgeous golden light, and the architecture and vibe of the city was simple magical.

The concert was at TivoliVredenburg, which was a beautiful, intimate venue. It's a circular building with steep stadium seats and a spacious open floor to fit a pretty good amount of people - we were at the back of the pit and still only 20 feet from the stage. It was amazing. Phil Cook was the opener, and he blew my mind. He's a master with the guitar, and for all of the performance it was just him sitting in a chair playing insane songs on the guitar. He just came out with his first solo album and I can't wait to get it. The Tallest Man on Earth was amazing too - usually his songs are just him and his guitar, but he had a full band performing with him for most of the songs and he put on a fun, energetic show. Here are a few of our new favorites:

Phil Cook - Ain't It Sweet

Tallest Man on Earth-  Love is All

Tallest Man on Earth - The Gardener

The Tallest Man on Earth - 1904
